Beat Up At School
Question
Hey I was just wondering if I could find someone to talk to I'm getting beat up at school and insulted about my body every day and I'm just struggling with finding self worth and happiness when everyone around me is making me feel useless and upset all the time.
Counselor response
We are so glad you decided to reach out for help and about the situation you are going through at school. It sounds like you are being physically attacked at school, which is not acceptable. Consider talking to a teacher or the guidance counselor about what is going on and ask for them to help you.
It may not feel helpful at first to hear that almost everyone your age is going through the same self-esteem issues that you are struggling with. At this stage in life you are learning the parts of yourself that are positive features and ones that you don’t like as well and want to change. It doesn’t matter what other people think or say about your body. What matters is what YOU think about your body. If you feel you are too fat or too thin, try to make some changes in a healthy manner. There are some great short articles on self-esteem on our website under the tips section. Here are a couple of them that might be helpful for you:
Another thing you can do any time that you need some support is to call us. We are here 24 hours every day of the year. We can help you problem solve and to feel better. We are here to help you and not to judge you. We will help in any way that we can.
Take care and stay safe!
